Released by CALVIN KLEIN in 1994, CK One redefined modern fragrance by blurring the boundaries of gender and sexuality. The iconic silhouette of CK One has been replicated across a number of iterations in the years since, each with a look and feel that embodied the popular culture of the time. The aim of CK Everyone is to capture the inclusivity, freedom, and self expression of CK One into an updated vegan scent, made from naturally-derived alcohol and infused with ingredients derived from natural origins. The result is CALVIN KLEIN’s first “clean” fragrance.
Aruliden designed the CK Everyone bottle and secondary packaging to express the principles of this “clean” fragrance. To embody a fragrance stripped of unnecessary chemicals, the bottle treatment was reduced to a screen printed logo over raw glass. This treatment places emphasis on the transparency of the fragrance and reinforces its purity while allowing the materials to live in their original state. To add a tongue-in-cheek nod to the truly “stripped” fragrance, we turned to Calvin Klein’s most iconic asset: the classic embroidered underwear band. A bespoke band hugs the body of the bottle to add a tactile graphic accent that can be removed to optimize the bottle’s recyclability and repurposed as an accessory.
