Canopy Growth, a world-leading diversified cannabis, hemp, and vaporization company approached Aruliden with a challenge—to elevate CBD and make it an affordable part of a daily wellness ritual. Over the course of two years, we worked with Canopy Growth to build a brand that delivers the benefits of CBD through an approachable visual identity, supporting graphic language and a custom-designed vaporizer with an interchangeable pod system.
Our industrial design and product development for whisl prioritized comfort and approachability, introducing CBD users to an easy-to-use system that sits comfortably in both the hand and the mouth. Built to withstand wear and scratching, whisl is crafted from aluminum, with a sandblasted silver finish. To create a friendly yet sophisticated form, the device’s iconic silhouette features soft shapes and a round window, designed to complement the cobalt blue shell of the interchangeable pods.
The sleek, nicotine-free CBD vaporizer is designed to deliver the wellness effects of CBD, with an unobtrusive design that fits seamlessly into everyday life.
Our approach to creating whisl’s visual identity drew inspiration from the name’s musical roots as well as CBD’s ability to help calm and uplift. The packaging’s graphic gestures double as sound waves and act as a visual representation of each product’s intended effect. The overall design language seeks to evoke feelings of tranquility and melody, by referencing the aesthetic stylings of mid-century Jazz album art.
The brand’s photo style conveys revitalizing and uplifting feelings, in line with the product’s offering and user experience. Each lifestyle shot combines in-situ flash photography to directly suggest the parts of the day each whisl pod is intended to enhance—sleek studio photography highlights the elegant and the simple, intuitive design of the vaporizer.
